When our client purchased his home from artist Camomile Hixon, there were elements he loved and wanted to keep, but wanted his personal and opposing style to be front and center. After identifying what should stay, we planned spaces to be more client-centric, pulling from his collection and acquiring new pieces to complete the spaces in the main house and one-bedroom pool house. The farm serves as an inspiring get-away for writer’s weekends, holiday parties, and quiet time with his grown children. One of our favorite spaces is what we call the “Sweet Room”: using his grandmother’s twin bed furniture set as the impetus, we created a super-cute guest bedroom tucked away in the attic, right next to the “dog room” which features the client’s grandmother’s charcoal dog portraits.
